MSDS supports product and transport review
The material safety data sheet provides product safety, handling and composition-related information used by buyers, freight partners and destination authorities. The available document version should be checked against the product being supplied.
Transport appraisal may be requested by the carrier
Airlines, forwarders or shipping partners may request an appraisal or classification document in addition to the MSDS. Requirements vary by product, route and carrier, so documents should be coordinated before the booking is finalized.
Commercial documents connect the goods to the order
Document names alone are not sufficient. Part numbers, quantities, weights, package counts and consignee information must remain consistent across the shipment file.
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading or air waybill
- Certificate of origin when requested and available
- Product certificate or supporting product files when available
Confirm destination requirements early
Import rules and buyer requirements differ by country. Share any mandatory certificate, language or legalization requirement before the quotation is finalized.
